Instructor: Vincenzo La Ruina

How will this course help educators to meet the Common Core State
Standards?

This course addresses multiple ELA standards because students will read, write, and research, after reading American History Comics.

How with this course benefit my classroom instruction and student learning
objectives?

This course will give teachers a creative resource to teach American history via comics. At the end of each comic, there are a series of text-based questions, as well as questions that require independent research and extended writing prompts.

The comics can also be used to create podcasts of the kids acting out the comics, integrating technology and performing arts.

Websites are given to expand learning for each of the comics.
